CONQUISTADOR BOARD MAKES UNILATERAL DECISION TO INVESTIGATE OVERPAYMENT OF FEES

At the January 20th Conquistador Condominium Board of Director's meeting, discussion ensued regarding the potential overpayment of Service Corporation fees to Conquistador Condominium homeowners. A letter was presented to the condo board along with the Deed Restrictions related to Unit 6 of The St. Augustine Shores.

Eileen Colomb, President of the Conquistador Board of Directors mentioned that she had contacted the Service Corporation but has been unable to obtain any additional information regarding the issue.

Further discussion ensued with Director Robert Burton asking if the entire Shores could be affected by a decision of the Conquistador Board. Keith Goldstein, a Conquistador homeowner, stated that it was his understanding that any direction taken by the Conquistador Association would only affect Unit 6. "Since the Conquistador Condominium homeowners comprise over 58% of the Unit we could, inevitably, control the voting block for Unit 6" said Goldstein. "The Board's focus needs to be on the condo owners".

The Board came to the conclusion that, as elected officials representing 456 homeowners, it would be in the best interest of the association to turn this matter over to the association attorney for clarification and direction.

Jeff Gay, Conquistador CAM, stated that his initial approach would be to notify the Service Corporation personally. "I don't want our first contact with them to be an attorney's letter" said Gay, "After all we are neighbors".
