"WANTED POSTER" TO HAVE FAR REACHING CONSEQUENCES

A flyer being distributed throughout the Shores community and recently discovered at the Shores Country Club has been turned over to the St. Augustine Record as well as the St. John's County Sheriff's Department.

The document, created to resemble a "Wanted Poster" names a candidate for the Service Corporation Board as being "WANTED, BUT NOT BY THE SERVICE CORP BOARD". The document has been created in some type of photoshop program listing the candidate as a member of a gang run by another candidate and a community member. In an attempt to add credibility to the document, the moniker of the St. John's County Sheriff's Department was placed on the top of the document as well as the St. Augustine Record logo at the bottom.

The individuals named within the document have stated that they intend to pursue the individuals responsible for the origination and distribution of the document and see that they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. (Some of the individuals responsible have already been named)

Morris Communications, the parent company of the St. Augustine Record, has become involved with their own investigation and has asked for help from anyone with any information regarding this document.

Derek May, Managing Editor of the St. Augustine Record has been in contact with those individuals named within the document and has stated that the St. Augustine Record's Logo has been misused, without the permission of the newspaper and that he is personally concerned about the usage. The matter has been turned over to his legal team, as well as consel of the other parties named and all parties have agreed to share information as it becomes available.
