The Service Corporation annual meeting will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009, at which 4 seats will be filled. We have requested information from all candidates, which we will share with the community as it becomes available.
As of this posting, we have ascertained information and/or qualifications related to the following candidates: Angela Bunkelman, Keith Goldstein, Stephen Raff , Steven Terrell and Kristin E Thomas. Additional information on the candidates, if provided, can be ascertained by clicking on the links attached to their names.
Angela Bunkelman has conveyed to us her passion for quality customer service and moving the process along. Bunkelman believes that her extensive experience in the area of property management, as well as her professional business demeanor, will help her to facilitate board meetings in a smooth and efficient manner. She has further stated her pro-active involvement on numerous association boards, as well as her comprehensive understanding of the Florida Statutes as they relate to community association management, will be beneficial to the community.
"In fairness to our homeowners, we need our Board to operate efficiently and facilitate the issues swiftly while including them in the decision making process", states Bunkelman.
Keith Goldstein intends to restore a sense of community unity throughout the Shores while holding elected board members more accountable to those they serve. He further intends to use his extensive business and municipal government experience to hold the line on operational costs and create a Riverview Club Council, charged with enacting a plan to eliminate deficit spending within the Riverview Club Facilities.
Goldstein hopes to involve the Shores condo communities in the decision making process and create committees to study the feasibility of a community-wide Comcast cable contract, Neighborhood Watch Program and a citizen's advisory council comprised of homeowners from each of the eight (8) Shores units and condo communities.
"The Shores should operate with small town values and these types of programs will get us there", stated Goldstein.
Steven Raff brings over forty years experience in delivering quality customer service while employed with local governments. Raff intends to bring extensive experience in the areas of budget management, leadership and operations to the Service Corporation Board.
Raff currently demonstrates his commitment to the St. Augustine Shores community as the Vice Chairman of the Architectural Control Committee.
Raff's management skills have been demonstrated recently, while contacting the St. Johns County Roads & Bridges Division and having several problems within the Shores corrected. He has also worked with the Florida Department of Transportation and had changes or repairs made to two traffic signals along US 1.

Apparently, he resides in the St. Augustine South and is believed to have an ownership interest in a Shores' rental home. Terrell is employed as a grounds maintenance equipment operator for Baker Landscaping, which currently has the grounds maintenance contract for the Shores.
Kristin E Thomas states that she is a strong communications professional. She would like to implement a more transparent and open approach to communication between the Board and the community.
